Lately, I’ve been feeling a deep collective shift – maybe you’ve been sensing it too.
It’s this quiet pull toward more softness and stillness, as we reflect on a powerful year full of shedding and transformation (cough cough, year of the Snake).
For many of us, there’s a call to tend to the body and the heart, to go into a cocoon, to see who we’ve become through all of the internal changes this year has asked of us. It’s also been a nine year in numerology, which means a year of completions and endings, and you can feel that energy moving through everything.
There’s such an urge right now to regulate, rest, and release control… and at the same time, everything inside us that wants to hold on is being stirred up to the surface.
It’s uncomfortable, but it’s medicine.
Because when life asks us to evolve, it also asks us to let die the versions of ourselves that were built on survival.
Letting the Old Identities Fall Away
For so long, we’ve been taught to push, to prove, to perform – to hold everything together and keep going no matter what.
But for many of us, that old “boss babe” energy is falling away.
We’re remembering that we don’t want to hustle ourselves into alignment.
We don’t want to build from depletion or from needing to be seen as successful.
We want to build something real, something that exists in right relationship with our sensitive, beautiful systems.
That means releasing the patterns that once helped us survive but no longer fit who we’re becoming.
This season is asking for surrender – not the passive kind, but the brave, grounded kind. The kind that says: “I’ve been through so much, and I’m ready to do it differently now.”
It’s safe to trust that what’s real will remain, and what’s meant to leave is falling away.
It’s safe to slow down.
It’s safe to soften.
The Recalibration
If it’s coming up – it’s coming out.
And if you’re like me and in that process right now, please trust that sometimes we have to fall apart to recalibrate.
We’re all learning what it means to be led by a sense of safety in our nervous systems, not by fear, hustle, or dysregulation.
It’s not easy, but it’s so worth it.
We’re rewriting the system.
We’re turning the ship around.
We’re sailing into more beautiful horizons after weathering a few storms and rocky seas.
We’ve got this.
Reflections for the Season
Notice where your body tenses when you think you have to hold it all together.
Soften there. Place a hand on your heart, breathe into that space, and let your shoulders drop. Let your body show you what control feels like – and what release feels like.
Ask yourself what part of you is being invited to die right now.
Is it the performer? The perfectionist? The one who thinks worthiness is earned through effort?
Write her a letter of gratitude and let her rest. She got you here – but she doesn’t need to run the show anymore.
Redefine what productivity means for you.
Maybe it’s not about more output, but more presence.
Maybe it’s not about more strategy, but more alignment.
Let your work flow from a regulated, connected state – and give yourself time to create that frequency internally.
A Closing Thought
If you’re not careful, the “boss babe” identity can just become another mask – a way of pretending to be something you think you have to be in order to receive love.
The truth is, your power was never in how much you could do.
It’s in how deeply you can listen, and how softly you can stay open, even as everything changes.
All my love,
Lauren
